Forrest E. Fielder’s (SVP, Wealth Management, UBS):
Over the past 17 years, Forrest has helped clients manage their wealth in the ever-changing financial markets with critical insight and thorough investment advice. He joined UBS in 2000 after 3 years as a Tax Senior at moss Adams LLP. With Forrest’s clients, he emphasizes total portfolio management with a focus on retirement income planning. He also assists clients with education funding, retirement plans, structures for charitable giving and estate planning. He is FINRA-registered and holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as licenses for life, accident and health insurance and variable annuities. Forrest earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Western Washington University and his law degree is from Seattle University School of Law. He resides in Fall City, WA with his wife and four children.

R. Scott Campbell (Senior Client Service Associate, UBS):
Scott began his career at UBS, while still in college, in 2001. He specializes in client support, handling
operational inquiries and providing exceptional service. Scott utilizes his 16 years in the financial services
industry to bring impeccable industry knowledge and extensive problem solving skills to the team. Scott has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Washington. He is FINRA-registered and holds both Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses. In addition to being a member of the team, Scott is an avid Husky Football fan and enjoys participating in marathons with his wife. He currently resides in Bothell, WA with his wife and daughter.

Alnoor Abdul Aziz (Egypt)

IPN Spotlight:  Alnoor Abdul Aziz (CFO at ORIX Leasing Egypt SAE)

Alnoor is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), at Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Presently, he is working as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with ORIX leasing Egypt SAE for last 14 years. As a CFO, Alnoor has been working with many international and regional multilateral agencies including International Finance Corporation, and African Development Bank to raise funds for SME’s in Egypt. He played an instrumental role in the writing of the new leasing law in Egypt.
Alnoor is a member of the Board of Trustees with First Microfinance Foundation Egypt (a subsidiary of Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance) for last five years. Currently, he is actively working with FMF-E team to convert the foundation to a Company, which will enable the organization to access funds. Last year, in March 2017, he was appointed as Chairman, to steer the Audit Committee for the Foundation.

What do you wish you had known or done differently throughout your career?
Shukar Alhamdulillah, I am satisfied with my career so far as I was able to provide an excellent education to my daughters. However, I do regret not taking risk earlier in my career, maybe if I had – I could have ended my career in a much stronger position.

What do you do for continuing education and improvement?
• I continuously improve by reading relevant magazines and business periodicals
• Additionally, I attend educational conferences/seminars from time to time

What is next for you in your career?
My current responsibilities have prepared me to advance my career path as CEO of a leasing financial services or a FINTECH company. I would be happy to contribute my expertise to AKFED and assist in uplifting our community.

What advice would you offer to others?
Be passionate about things and what you want to do – though money is important, it is not everything.

Sonia Noori

IPN Spotlight: Sonia Noori (Senior Management Consulting Analyst at Accenture)

Sonia Noori was born in Afghanistan, grew up in Pakistan and has been living in the US for the past 10 years. She is a Senior Management Consulting Analyst at Accenture. She works with multiple teams for different clients assisting them to create system change, defines transition processes and analyzes cost and risk associated with necessary transformation. Her experience includes managing and coordinating logistics for training teams of 150+ trainers across a span of three hospitals and provide live training to 10,000+ end users.
Sonia is proficient in JIRA Agile project management software. She graduated with a Bachelors in Business Management and International Relations from Earlham College; and received an International Baccalaureate Diploma in Economics and History from United World College. Her volunteer experience includes working as a differed gift associate at Aga Khan Foundation.

What skills have helped you in your career?
Three skills that have helped me the most are: interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and technological competence.

What do you wish you had known or done differently throughout your career?
Well – I wish I had set aside time for networking, being able to reach out to the people in my field to seek their advice and understanding on overall market demand, and the skills needed in my profession.

What do you do for continuing education and improvement?
In addition to reading, I continuously take classes on Coursera and take advantage of any additional training opportunities offered at work.

What is next for you in your career?
For the next phase of my career and professional growth, I want to pursue a master’s degree.

What advice would you offer to others?
I suggest, seek experts advise and network a lot. Also, I would say, no job is too small, as long as you work hard. Always have a positive attitude and be keen to learn.

I have to have a pulse on culture with my job so I try and experience different things so that I can take that to my job and I constantly am reading, watching what other brands are doing.

Zahida has recently joined JWT as a Partner and is spearheading a new agency group that is tasked with developing a new way to service clients for today’s world.

Follow your passion and create a vision for yourself.

The Ismaili Professional Network Actuarial and Risk group held its first webinar for Students and professionals interested in exploring the field of actuarial science. This introductory webinar was designed to briefly discuss basics of Actuarial profession (to help students gain deeper insights with career choices) and how the profession is emerging with ever changing dynamics of the society.

Arif Virani – McKinsey (New York)

Zeeshan Rehmani – KPMG (Atlanta)
Zeeshan Rehmani is an Actuary with KPMG based in Atlanta. He has been focused on areas including Strategy, Value Based Management, Risk and Capital Management, Investments and Transformation. His clients include the world’s largest multinational financial services institutions. Prior to KPMG Zeeshan was an Actuary with AIG and played a key strategic role in the payback to the US Federal Reserves and Treasury. Zeeshan is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries and a Member of Academy of Actuaries.

Aly Moosa – KPMG (Dallas)
Aly Moosa is an Actuary with KPMG’s Dallas Life and Health Insurance Actuarial Consulting Practice. He has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry. Aly provides audit and advisory services to the world’s largest multinational entities in the financial services and insurance sectors. He has significant knowledge in financial reporting, actuarial modeling, systems conversion, and project management. Prior to joining KPMG, he held positions in the Financial Reporting Group of two multinational insurance companies, AIG and Scor Global Life Re, where he worked on a variety of modeling platforms and valuation bases, including IFRS and Solvency II. Aly is an Associate of Society of Actuaries and a Member of the Academy of Actuaries.

Saira Makhani – CNA (Chicago)
Saira Makhani is an Actuary with CNA based in Chicago. She is currently working as a Long term care pricing actuary with focus on individual and group market. Prior to CNA, Saira was an Actuary with Allstate Life and Retirement and worked in several capacities on Asset Liability Management, Modeling and Valuation and Finance teams. Saira is an Associate of Society of Actuaries.

Zain Attawala – McGriff, Seibels & Williams (Atlanta)
Zain Attawala was an actuary at McGriff Seibels and Williams based in Atlanta, Georgia. He worked as a reserving actuary performing reserve analysis, product management, collateral requirements, and merger and acquisitions. Previously, zain has acted as a pricing actuary for Interstate National Corporation, AIG and AXIS. At INC, he focused on pricing extended coverages for automobiles. Whereas, at AIG and AXIS he performed pricing for casualty lines of business and developed rating models. With a passion for entrepreneurship, Zain has recently transitioned to real estate acquisitions and retail service businesses.

Javed Jussa

IPN Spotlight: Javed  Jussa (Head of US Quantitative Strategies, Deutsche Bank)

Javed Jussa is head of US Quantitative Strategies at Deutsche Bank. He specializes in researching quantitative equity and global macro strategies for the bank’s institutional client base. Javed’s research focuses on discovering new stock-selection signals, exploring technical and mean reverting strategies, and testing risk management and portfolio construction techniques.
Javed has written research on stock selection models, global quant macro, news sentiment, accounting irregularities, pairs trading, technical factors, machine learning techniques, earnings forecasts models, SMID, and socially responsible investing. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Javed spent several years working as a quantitative analyst for other sell-side firms in both New York and Canada.
Javed holds a joint Bachelors of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and an MBA specializing in finance and statistics.
